Greetings!

Can you believe that we are more than halfway through the year? The year for me is flying by. And recently I am seeing many advertisements for Christmas in July!

The scary part is that we are less than 175 days to 2020. 175 days left to achieve our business goals. 175 days to finish our 2019 list of things to do. To some that may seem like a long time. To me it will be gone in an instant.

With the retailers talking about Christmas in July and realizing that 2020 will be here in no time, it’s a great time to start thinking about your year-end promotional plans. Do you give gifts to your clients at the year-end to say thank you? Do you give gifts to your employees to show your appreciation for all that they do?

It doesn’t matter when you decide to give, now is a good time to start thinking about it. Do you have a budget? Do you have a theme? Do you give something special based on who the client is or just one type of gift for all clients?

And what about holiday cards? Thanksgiving, Holiday or Happy New Year cards are all still very much appreciated. I know that over the last few years more and more people are sending an e-card. While I understand some of the reasoning I do think much is lost with an e-card.

First of all, not all e-cards reach their intended recipient. It gets caught in the firewall or spam file to be deleted without ever being seen.

Secondly, if it is seen, it’s for a just a moment. Then it too is deleted never to be thought of again.

However, with a physical card it typically always makes it to the recipient and many of them are kept and displayed for a least a month. Viewed by all that come into their office. Giving you a lot of exposure and your client or prospect is reminded of your message daily.

So, as part of your year-end planning, think about what you want to accomplish. Thanking your employees and clients (no matter your budget) can go a long way.
